Tim Smith is the founder of OnePlace, a law firm focused Client Intelligence system built on Salesforce's leading platform (approximately 20% of the world's CRM users use a Force.com product).

After working with InterAction for 14 years within law firms as a consultant/project manager, and later as a Consulting Manager for LexisNexis, Tim saw an opportunity to develop a new best of bread CRM system on Salesforce's cutting edge technology. With a team of developers and industry advisors, OnePlace was shaped into an easy to use, pre-configured solution, accessible on remote devices, which promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration, has information delivered to users at set times via workflow, and can be customised to add or reduce functionality depending on clients' needs.

Tim, who has just returned back to Sydney after living in San Francisco for 2 years, lives and breathes CRM and understands the challenges law firms are faced with in terms of managing clients and turning prospects into client. He has been involved in OnePlace's conception through to its evolution into a powerful legal IT solution drawing together client intelligence all within one location.

Gary has had 17 years IT experience, with 9 years in senior management roles. Gary has a commercial and accounting background but made the move to IT in the late nineties, initially focussing on infrastructure. Gary has worked in the investment banking, insurance, mining and professional services sectors in both Australia and the UK. Over time, his focus in IT has varied from managing technical portfolios to enterprise-wide strategic focussed work. In recent years, Gary played a lead role in the technology strategy to successfully bring together the global merger of Australian firm Freehills and UK and Asian firm Herbert Smith, before moving to leading Australian firm, MinterEllison in mid-2015. Gary's focus at MinterEllison has been on bringing a new legal service delivery model mindset to 'BigLaw' via emerging digital technologies focussed on data, AI, automation and expert systems to streamline end-to-end delivery of legal services to clients.

Berys has worked in the legal sector for more than 25 years, starting in finance administration and then moving into information technology. She has worked for a number of top ten law firms and managed a range of areas within technology, including service delivery, training, system administration and project management. Berys has extensive experience in project management, having been a part of several large office moves and fit outs, major systems implementations and upgrades as well as the change management processes for implementing new systems.

Berys’ current role as Director of Technology at Corrs Chambers Westgarth involves collaborating with key business stakeholders to understand the business objectives and factors of success in the industry, and developing and implementing the IS strategy in line with the overall business strategy. She manages a national team which includes client technology solutions, IT project delivery, IT training, helpdesk and service delivery, and infrastructure and applications support. Berys is also a Knowledge Advisor for the International Legal Technology Association and was selected for CIO Australia’s top 50 CIOs for 2016.

Jodie Baker is best known in legal circles as the architect of ground-breaking NewLaw firm, Hive Legal, recognised for its innovative business model with numerous awards including the ALPMA Telstra Thought Leadership Award 2014 and LIV Law Firm of the Year (<20 partners) 2016. At Hive Legal, Jodie was Managing Director, a role for which she was recognised as a finalist in Lawyers’ Weekly Women in Law Awards, Executive of the Year 2015. Before Hive, Jodie enjoyed a diverse background as a lawyer and financial analyst at Minter Ellison, JBWere, Goldman Sachs, and 2008 start-up Evans & Partners. Now Jodie has taken legal innovation from cloud powered law firm, Hive Legal to cloud powered in-house legal software, Xakia Matters. At Xakia, Jodie is passionate about making sleek technology solutions accessible to corporate legal teams.

John has over 20 years experience in the Information Sector, having worked in a number of engineering, sales and executive positions. With a strong technical background, he has vast experience in designing and developing products and has delivered platforms from inception to production.

Graham heads up HotDocs Global Services, providing professional services and support to HotDocs customers, globally. He has more than six years’ experience of helping some of the world’s largest organisations to implement highly integrated document automation solutions, working with clients from concept to completion. A qualified software engineer, Graham has integrated HotDocs technology with a wide range of other line of business systems such as CRM, BPM and document management for clients across the legal, banking, corporate and public sectors.

Andrew Price is the Managing Director of Inspire Management. For more than 15 years Andrew has been working within professional services both as a lawyer, law firm COO, and legal management consultant helping law firms and in house legal teams develop and implement strategy, win new business, become more efficient and more profitable, and most importantly in the current legal market, CHANGE.

Andrew is an ‘Expert Certified’ Management Consultant and Australia’s first Foundation Level Accredited Change Manager with the Change Management Institute. In 2012 and 2013 Andrew was the winner of the Practice Manager of the Year Award at the Australasian Law Awards. He has presented in the United States, Singapore, Canada and various cities throughout Australia on law firm strategy and execution, change management in law, and how law firms can deal with the rapidly changing legal market.

Simone Zerial joined Toyota Motor Corporation Australia as Legal Manager / Senior Solicitor in March 2015. Simone has 6 years of international private practice and 10 years of in-house practice, all underscored by Masters level academic background with completion of a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance in 2016. In her role at Toyota, Simone is also responsible for considering automation within the legal function as part of Toyota Legal’s 3 year strategic plan, the first step is using Xakia Matters for measurement and reporting on the legal function.
